  2.                         InTune v2.0 Modes and Usage
  3.  
  4. Usage:    Full Screen Mode:  INTUNE [options]
  5.           This is an interactive mode in which you are presented with
  6.           commands and a screen full of ROL filenames.  You may select one
  7.           or more songs to play, and issue commands using the keyboard 
  8.           and/or mouse.
  9.  
  10.           Command Line Mode: INTUNE [options] files
  11.           This mode allows you to specify, on the command line, which songs
  12.           to play (wildcards are supported).  This also allows you to use
  13.           InTune with other programs which require an external ROL player.
  14.  
  15.           Script File Mode:  INTUNE [options] @file
  16.           This mode reads InTune commands from an ASCII text file.  Not
  17.           only does this mode play songs, but also provides screen output
  18.           and control, as well as access to other DOS programs.  (Useful
  19.           for demos)

  21. Options are:
  22.   /B<bankfile> = Specify an alternate instrument bank file (ie: /BBANK.BNK).
  23.        InTune defaults to using STANDARD.BNK, but this option lets you
  24.        change this.  If an extension is omitted, .BNK is appended.
  25.  
  26.   /D<directory> = Specify an alternate directory (ie: /DC:\ADLIB\ROLS).
  27.        InTune defaults to using the current directory, but this option
  28.        allows playing songs from other directories.
  29.  
  30.   /I = Display ROL technical information.  InTune will read and display
  31.        information contained in a ROL file, including play time of the
  32.        song, instruments used & missing, number of events, etc.

  34.   /X = Use extended display in InTune full screen mode (EGA/VGA only).  If
  35.        your system is equipped with an EGA/VGA display, InTune will switch
  36.        to 43/50 line display mode.

  38.   /Z<zipfile> = Specify PKZIP file to use (ie: /ZROLS.ZIP).  InTune
  39.        supports playing of ROLs from within compressed PKZIP files.  If
  40.        an extension is omitted, .ZIP is appended.  (PKUNZIP required)

  42.                     Controlling InTune with the Keyboard
  43.  
  44. Commands: InTune commands are listed on the top line of the display, and
  45. can be executed by pressing ALT together with the highlighted key for the
  46. desired command.
  47.  
  48. Selection of songs: The four arrow keys, page up, page down, end, and home
  49. keys may all be used to move the cursor to the desired song.  You may also
  50. type the first letter of a song to quickly move to it.  If you wish to add
  51. a song to the play queue, press the space bar.  The song will be added to
  52. the play queue, and it's position in the play queue will be displayed next
  53. to the song.  To remove a song from the play queue, highlight the song,
  54. press the space bar again, and the number will disappear.

  56. Playing Songs: Pressing return or issuing the Play command will start
  57. playing songs.  If no songs are in the play queue, the currently highlighted
  58. song will be played.  If there are songs in the play queue, the first song
  59. in the queue will begin playing.  You can skip songs in the play queue by
  60. pressing the space bar, and you can abort all playing by pressing escape.

  62.                      Controlling InTune with the Mouse
  63.  
  64. Commands: InTune commands are listed on the top line of the display, and
  65. can be executed by placing the mouse pointer on the desired command, and
  66. single clicking the left mouse button.

  68. Selection of songs: To select a song, simply place the mouse pointer on
  69. the desired song, and single click the left mouse button.  To move between
  70. pages, single click on the right or left arrow symbols on the top line of
  71. the screen next to the command strings.  If you wish to add a song to the
  72. play queue, place the mouse cursor on top of the song, and single click the
  73. right mouse button.  The song will be added to the play queue, and it's
  74. position in the play queue will be displayed next to the song.  To remove
  75. a song from the play queue, place the mouse cursor on the song, and 
  76. single click the right mouse button.

  78. Playing Songs: Double clicking the left mouse button or issuing the Play
  79. command will start playing songs.  If no songs are in the play queue, the
  80. currently highlighted song will be played.  If there are songs in the play
  81. queue, the first song will begin playing.

  84.                             InTune Commands

  86. About   - Displays a copyright notice, and InTune support information.
  87.  
  88. Play    - Begins playing songs, and brings up the play window.  If no songs
  89.           are in the play queue, the currently highlighted song is played,
  90.           otherwise the first song in the play queue begins playing.
  91.  
  92. Repeat  - Repeat mode [only takes effect when songs are playing].  If no
  93.           songs are in the play queue, the currently highlighted song will
  94.           play repeatively until stopped.  If there are songs in the play
  95.           queue, the entire play queue will be played repeatively until
  96.           stopped.

  98. Shuffle - Continuously plays (until stopped) songs at random.
  99.  
  100. Clear   - Removes all songs from the play queue.

  102. Markall - Places all songs in the play queue.

  105.                           More InTune Commands
  106.  
  107. Info    - Display technical information for currently selected song.  This
  108.           information includes current bankfile being used, number of
  109.           entries and version of bankfile, name and version of ROL file,
  110.           playing time, instruments used & instruments missing, event
  111.           counts, and some other miscellaneous information.

  113. Quit    - Halt playing of all songs, and exit to DOS.
  114.  
  115. Help    - Display on-line help information (what you are currently reading).
  116.  
  117. Arrows  - If a mouse is detected, left and right arrow symbols are displayed,
  118.           and may be used to switch between pages (same as page up and 
  119.           page down when using the keyboard).  These arrows will only appear
  120.           if a mouse is detected in your system.

  123.                              InTune Play Window
  124.  
  125. When songs are played in the InTune full screen mode, the play window
  126. appears.  This window displays information about the song currently being
  127. played, and adds three commands.
  128.  
  129. The top line of the window indicates what InTune is presently doing 
  130. (unzipping, loading, playing, or deleting).  Error messages are also
  131. displayed on this line.  The next line contains three items of information.
  132. The musical note on the left side of the window will be red when the song
  133. is still being loaded into the sound drivers queues, and will change to
  134. green when the entire song has been loaded.  The middle of this line
  135. contains a "meter" which gives you a visual indication of the progress of
  136. the song currently being played.  The right side of this line shows the
  137. percentage of the song which has been played.  The next line displays the
  138. time remaining of the current song, as well as elapsed time of the current
  139. song.  The bottom line gives you the option of stopping all playing, and
  140. pausing or skipping the current song.
